Prayer Tips
Prayers don't have to be long or use special or complex language. Some can be as short as "Please help me Lord".
The most important thing is to
take the time all through the day to pray and talk to God. Here are a few tips
for praying.
Adoration
This just means that you are praising God. Like in
the Lord's Prayer when it says "Hallowed be thy name" Also check out the Psalms
for examples of praise.
Confession
Confess that you are a sinner and what you have
done against God. Then ask for forgiveness through Jesus. Sometimes we don't
want to admit the things we have done wrong. God is already aware of your sins,
but wants to hear it from you.
Thanksgiving
Thank God for all that He has given you. I know
sometimes the world seems like it is crashing down, but there is always
something to be thankful for. Being saved through Jesus is a huge thing to be
thankful for.
Supplication
This means to ask Him for the things you need. He
already knows, but he wants you to come to him and ask. He wants you to
rely on Him for your needs, but he also gives us free will. So its important to
ask Him for what we need.
Jesus name
Always remember to pray in Jesus name. Jesus is the one who made us right
with God and He is also the one who takes our prayers to the Father on our
behalf.
