Importance of Encouragement

Encouragement is very important. It helps get us through life in a fallen world. It gives us hope to keep going with all the things that the world throws at us.

We have to remember that God is always there to encourage, promise, and help in our time of need. It is shown through out the Bible that God never abandons his children, and that can be one of the biggest encouragements of all.

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. (Hebrews 10:23-25)

It is also very important that we encourage each other. Sometimes we get too caught up in our own lives to take the time to encourage and support others. I hope you take a moment this week to support and encourage someone who needs you.

If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. (Philippians 2:1-2)

Also do not be afraid to ask for help or support in your life. Sometimes we are the ones to encourage someone else, and sometimes we are the ones who need the encouragement. Often God uses those times in our lives to prepare us to help someone else.

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say. (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17)
